Hi,
Hi, I've been trading on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) for many years now. What frustrated me when I first started was the lack of free historical data for the NYSE stock exchange. As i was using technical Analysis, I wanted to back test my buy and sell signals before I went and did some real trades.
Now, years later, after I've scoured the net for historical data, the web has not changed that much. Historical data for the NYSE is still scarce. So I've gone and set up a website where others starting out trading shares on the NYSE stock exchange can download historical data free of charge: NYSE Historical Data. No strings attached. I've obtained this data throughout the may years I've been trading. I hope it helps others in their search for data, and experience.
The data on NYSE Historical Data is updated monthly, on the first of the month. The files are downloadable month by month in metastock format:
Symbol, Date, Open, High, Low, Close, Volume
The data is available in both raw data, and adjusted for dividends and splits.
The data goes back to 1962. That's over thirty years of data! Surely that's enough for most technical traders to back test their methods.
I've also uploaded NASDAQ historical data in addition to NYSE data.
Thats all for me for now. Hopefully my website NYSE historical Data will benefit other NYSE stock traders.
