When you've decided to start trading shares, you have to decide one of two things: To use technical analysis, or fundamental analysis. If you decide to go down the technical analysis path, you'll need historical data on the stock exchange you need. This is critical in back testing any methods you may develop. You need to prove to yourself with real data that your methods work before you want to risk your hard earned money on the real stock exchange. Unfortunately, most sites only offer end of day data at a price.
Lucky for you, a new site has been set up to accomodate those looking for free end of day data. Free! I admit its not the flashiest of sites, but it works. Its simple, and its free. The data is available for download in metastock format, in csv (comma separated values) files.
